Can I be forced to settle my case?

By: Glen Wieland

settling a case

When it comes to a workers’ compensation accident, there are some situations where an adjuster might continuously call you asking about settling your case. Know that you cannot be forced into settling your case at any point and your benefits will still apply even if you don’t settle, as long as you get treatment from an authorized doctor at least one time per year. Your adjuster, lawyer and workers compensation judge cannot force you to settle your case at any point.  All settlements in workers’ compensation cases must be voluntary and agreed upon by both you and the insurance company.

Testimonials

Glen represented me for a workers’ comp accident. He took care of getting me the right doctor, my prescriptions filled, my medical bills paid and made sure that I was being paid properly for my wages. His staff was very friendly and always returned my calls. Having Glen represent me was the best thing I ever did.

Mr Hilado is definitely on top of his game. I hired him for my Social Security Disability appeal and finally got my benefits awarded to me in two months. It is hard to find attorneys these days like him. He is very honest, and knowledgeable. I plan on referring him to friends and family.
